Nothing Like a nice cuppa……

Morrocan Mint Tea

Hands on Heart……

Tea drinking is a major phenomenon worldwide. Whether the sweet Chai found all over India where there is a Chai wallah in every village. I never forget their calls early in the morning ‘Chai….Chai….Chai….’ wakening me from a terrible night’s sleep on the train, served in a little glass, spicy, creamy, sweet as you like. a great way to start the day. The hot mint tea of Morocco, a combination of Chinas’ green gunpowder tea and dried mint poured from up high, into the glass to stimulate the senses and fill the room with aromatic mint scent. In China, tea is big business, the tea cup also being of value to their rituals. Tea will be drunk throughout the day mostly not with meals varying from, black, oolong to green and a fermented type served in a tea cake.

In the UK most conversation is had a round a cup of tea. It definitely plays a big part in our household. We often drink tea together and shoot the moon. The other day my eldest kid said ‘’can’t we have a cup of tea or something.’’ Meaning can we sit and talk, I need your attention. The coming together and connection is really something that I am interested in, as in yoga and creativity. It feels as if we mention ‘tea’ it makes us realise that attention needs to be given to something and that we need to connect.

I drink a lot of tea of all kinds when I am creating and writing.  I’m sure it helps like a creative companion. A student friend advised that they were taking time to create over their new ritual of  ‘drinking lotus tea from a tea pot.’ In Creative Being classes I make tea for others, bringing us together as part of our yoga and creativity ceremony.

I’m sure we will all be drinking a lot of tea over Christmas, the coming together of hearts and souls. Uniting with family or alone doing our best to communicate with each other. Keep your heart open and welcome in all the feels. Remembering to do our creativity & yoga practice to keep us balanced.  Have a very merry Christmas and I will be in touch in the not too distant future with new ideas for Creative Being yoga and creativity classes. Now it’s time for a rest. Hands on heart, with all its ups and downs, I have had a really good year. I know that you had a lot to do with that and I am grateful.

Love as ever Cass
