RETREATING, SLOWING DOWN AND SLOW STITCH.
O mi retreating is necessary part of being. Time away in nature, walks in the woods, meditation and yoga. Plus portable creativity. Slow stitch can be taken anywhere you like and picked up everywhere. On the train, on holiday or on retreat as this weekend & the summer showed.
The photographs shown here are of the scraps that I had kept for a couple of years and made into rosettes this piece is growing and changing as its created. I am not sure what it is exactly or where this going. It’s the taking the time to myself to sew and stitch that supports it to make itself. It’s a creative meditation. Many of the stitches here are called ‘seed’ stitch. like a sankalpa planting an intention. As the scraps come from new makes, this piece will grow and I will go back to it time and time again. Sounds reflective of yoga? Together they make a powerful combination. I would say that though eh! Scroll down for more excitement.
